This afternoon our Principal, Mr Bateman, told us about something that he does. Can you guess from our pictures what he was telling us about? We will share some information and stories with you soon but we had an awesome afternoon.
Yes we are learning about honey and bees. You were right! What great looking at our photos. Corrina: Our principal, Mr Bateman, brought us a bee hive, a smoker, a frame with honey inside it, a hive tool that opens up the bee hive so your hand doesn't get stung when you open it because there are live bees inside the hive (but we didn't have any bees because Mr Bateman had smoked them out of the hive). He also brought along gloves, a sleeve and a veil hat. You have to wear these so you don't get stung. He also brought us stickers that he used to use on his jars when he sold honey. Mr Davidson: We were really lucky that we could put our fingers straight into the frame full of honey. It tasted just like yummy honey. (Keeson) It is like sugar because it is so sweet. (Emily) It left some wax in our mouths but the rest was honey. (Cody)
