Discovery time
This morning we were treated to Mohamed's mum, Habiba, sharing her skills in henna painting. Some of us were lucky enough to get a design on our hands. Miss Browne then dried them with the hair dryer. It took a long time and it got a bit hot too sometimes! We love our designs and look forward to Haniba coming back again another day.

Interchange
Today Room 3 continued with making their Pete the Cat's. We made salt dough and then used it to make buttons for Pete. We made them blue and sparkly. We used a straw to make four holes in each button. We even worked out that there were 16 holes altogether.

Art Attack
For the first week of the term we had our school Art Attack Week. We went to different classes to do dance, drama, music and some visual art about fire, wind and water. We used the Maori myths and legends of Maui and the Sun and how Papatuanuku and Ranginui were split as inspiration for our creative week. Mr Britt came along to teach us about different Maori instruments as one part of the music component. We thank him for sharing his skills and instruments and for spending time with us.

Poetry and Art
On Friday we had a poem all about bees. We used bubble paper to make prints that looked a little bit like honey comb we saw on the frame. It was a bit tricky because if you pushed too hard it didn't leave the pattern just a filled in hole of honey.
