This morning we wrote our own sentences. First we thought of our own idea. We drew a picture of our favourite animals. We used the sentence starter "I like ..." and told a partner our favourite animal in a sentence. This was the sentence that we tried to write. We worked together on the first part and then helped each other to find the starting letter for our animals.

Wind Energy
We are learning about different types of energy. We are making windmills. We had to work hard on our cutting skills. There are lots of concentrating faces while we are doing this.

Writing Together
We are very proud of this group of students who are learning their alphabet sounds. We all tried to write the sentence 'Look at the big ball'. We worked together to find the sounds for our sentence on our alphabet card, put the counter on it and then copy the letter onto our whiteboard. Some of them were working hard to try and put spaces in between their words.
Discovery Time
We have changed our focus at Discovery Time to 'Resilience'. Part of being resilient is to take a risk.

There were some things hiding in our sand tray. Some of us had to take a risk to put our hands in to find out what was in there. Once we found the pirates we hunted for coins. We tried to count the numbers on the coins to work out who had the most.

Some of us took a risk using the hula hoops in a different way. We played a game where we all held hands and tried to move a hoop around. We had to bend our bodies in lots of different ways.
Some of us took a risk and tried to make a pattern we had never made before. Prapti and Jacob worked hard to copy a pattern that was tricky for them all by themselves.
Some of took a risk to try a new game with our friends. We had to take turns and listen to those people who knew the rules. Giant Connect Four is great fun but we need to think hard to work together and get four counters in a row.
