Today our beginning writers group worked together to write about eating our dehydrated fruit. We worked together to make the sentence 'We ate fruit."
We are trying to write across our board, just like when we are reading. We draw a sun in the top corner to remember to write towards the sun. This also helps us to write our letters around the right way.
We use a counter and stretch out the words to hear the sound that each word begins with. Some of us are getting super clever and can hear more than just the beginning sound. Check out our super writers on their whiteboards today.
Collin was on his second visit to school. He used a counter to find the letters to write. He copied these onto his whiteboard and then he decorated his board. Great work Collin to find some letters in your writing today.
Jessica is also learning to use her alphabet card. She is finding the sounds in the sentence and can write them on her board. She is trying to put them in the right order.
Jacob is learning how to hear the alphabet sounds and then to write them on his board. Great work today Jacob to write down some of the letters.
Destiny was at school today on her second visit. She was able to find some sounds on her alphabet card too and then wrote them on her whiteboard. Great writing Destiny.
Alizae is getting so good at hearing the letter sounds. She can use her alphabet card and today even tried all by herself. Wow Alizae, you wrote two sentences with a full stop in between. We are so proud of you!
We ate fruit. We ate apples.
Dexter wrote today across his board in the right direction. He is learning to hear some of the sounds and find them on his alphabet card. Awesome writing Dexter.
Wow Ziba! Ziba has been learning her letter sounds and was so quick today to find them on her alphabet card. Look at those fabulous spaces between your words too. We are so proud of you for having a go by yourself.
Tyrrell wrote some great sounds today. He found them on his alphabet card and then wrote them on his whiteboard. He worked hard to put in some spaces too. Well done Tyrrell. We can see three words in your sentence.
Andre tried to some work by himself today. He was able to write the first sentence by finding the sounds on his alphabet card and then writing them on his whiteboard. He is going to try to leave spaces between his words and keep going all the way across his board. Well done Andre for having a go by yourself today.
